Pair of Jumu wood maoyi Chairs - Classic Ming style but dated late 1800's. This has a hint of red lacquer residue on the suface and lacquer fabric beneath.
Found in a home in Shanghai China but, probably from.
Chair that folds back into itself. This was probably made in Shanxi province. But, it is not a classical Chinese design. It was described by someone more familiar with this genre than I, as an Anglo Chinese colonial campaign chair dating from the 1820's. The wood might be Jumu but, I haven't confirmed that. There is metalwork on the hinges and corners.
Shanxi folding chair. The two protruding supports in the front I assume is to assist someone to stand up. This is lacquered black with original metal work. Again, I have not yet determined wood.
Wine table with black lacquer. Picked this up from someone's home in Shanghai.
