DESCRIPTION

Southeast Asia, western Philippines, Palawan Island, Tagbanua tribe, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand-carved cylindrical bamboo quiver known as a karaban used for transporting a blowgun, darts, and handle. A set of braided rattan fiber strap wraps around the midsection and secures the bottom of the carved wooden handle which bears the likeness of a boar.
